HOLIDAY GOLDEN FRUIT CAKE 
2 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
5 eggs
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. orange juice
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. whole figs
1 lb. whole dates
1 lb. whole Brazil nuts (substitute Macadamia)
2 c. English walnut halves
1 c. whole candied cherries

Sift together flour, salt and baking powder. Beat eggs until light and lemon colored. Add sugar gradually, beating all time. Add dry ingredients alternately with orange juice to egg mixture. Stir in vanilla.

Combine fruits and nuts in large bowl, fold into cake mixture. Grease large loaf cake pans (2) or 5-6 small loaf pans. Pour in mixture. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours for large pans 1 hour for small.
