ENGLISH TOFFEE 
2 sticks butter
1 c. blanched slivered almonds
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. white karo syrup
1 tbsp. water
1 giant Hershey bar
Finely chopped nuts

Over high heat in heavy saucepan cook first five ingredients. Stir constantly until mixture is one shade darker than brown sugar (10 to 15 minutes). Pour onto buttered cookie sheet. Place broken pieces of chocolate on top and spread. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. When cool and hard, break into pieces and eat it all up.
