DAKOTA GEMS 
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter (oleo)
3/4 c. oil
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
3 1/2 c. flour
1 c. Rice Krispies cereal
1 c. coconut
1 c. oatmeal
3/4 c. nuts
Chocolate chips, if desired

Blend and beat well the first six ingredients. Add next four ingredients and mix well. Add cereal, coconut, oatmeal, nuts and chocolate chips (if desired) and mix all together well. Drop by spoonfuls and press with fork. Bake at 350 F. about 15 minutes.
