SOURDOUGH APPLESAUCE DONUTS 
2 2/3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
2 egg yolks
2 tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. applesauce
1/2 c. starter
1/4 c. buttermilk

Mix dry ingredients thoroughly. Add rest of ingredients mixing well then knead the dough well. Roll dough out to about 1/2 inch thick and cut into donuts. Heat cooking oil to 390 degrees.
