CRUSTY BREADSTICKS 
1 pkg. dry yeast
1 tsp. sugar
1/8 tsp. ginger
1 c. warm water

Soften and dissolve together for 5 minutes. Add:

1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
2 tsp. oil or softened butter
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. sugar
3 c. flour

Mix until soft dough is formed. Cover and let dough rest for 20 minutes. Cut off pieces slightly smaller than golf balls. Roll 10 to 12 inch long and twist. Brush with a wash of 1 slightly beaten egg white and 1 tablespoon cold water. Sprinkle with course salt. Let rise uncovered 20 minutes. Bake at 400 degree oven 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
