CECILIA'S FAVORITE DOUGHNUTS 
Beat:

2 whole eggs
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. soft shortening

Add:

1 c. water

Sift together and stir in:

4 tbsp. Saco powdered buttermilk
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. mace
1/8 tsp. ginger

Turn dough onto lightly floured board. Knead 5 or 6 times. Roll out 1/3 inch thick. Let rest 20 minutes. Cut with cutter for doughnuts. Fry in hot fat until brown. Drain on absorbent paper. Serve plain, sugared or glazed.
