YEAST ROLLS 
2 c. milk
1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 pkgs. dry yeast
Add flour until leaves sides of bowl

Heat milk to lukewarm and add sugar and salt. Stir to dissolve. Melt shortening and add to milk. Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm not hot water for at least 5 minutes. Add milk to yeast and stir. Beat 2 cups of flour into liquid for about 1 minute or until very smooth. Then add the rest of the flour a little at a time beating after each addition. Pour out of bowl and knead until smooth. Let rise until double in greased bowl. Punch down and let rise again. Punch down and form into rolls or loaves. Bake at 375 degrees for about 20 minutes. Makes 2 loaves and rolls vary with size.
