DEEP DISH FRENCH TOAST | |
1 stick butter 1 c. brown sugar 2 tbsp. Karo syrup Apples French bread 1 dozen eggs 1 1/2 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla Melt butter in large baking dish. Add brown sugar and Karo, mix well and bring to boil. Slice apples or use whole blueberries and arrange them in a single layer in attractive rows (they will be on top when you serve). Slice French bread in 1/2 slices and top the apples (about 1/2 loaf). Beat eggs, milk, and vanilla well. Pour over bread and apples. Can sit overnight in refrigerator. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Can sprinkle cinnamon on top before baking. |
