UNCLE FRANK SICILIAN "S" COOKIES | |
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 to 1 1/4 cups sugar 4 tsp. baking powder 1 cup Crisco (or shortening of your choice) 1/4 cup milk 1 tbsp. vanilla or almond extract 3 large or 4 small eggs Optional: confectioners' sugar decoration sprinkles 1. In a bowl, mix all ingredients, except optional ingredients, mixing by hand until smooth. 2. Form into long, 1-inch thick string, cut into smaller pieces approximately 3-inches long, shape into an "S". 3. Bake at 350 - 400°F for 10 - 15 minutes, checking for doneness. 4. Cool and Frost. FROSTING: 3/4 to 1 (1 lb.) confectioners' sugar milk (adjust) 1/4 tsp. vanilla Mix sugar and milk (as needed) and vanilla until smooth. Frost top of cookie and, if desired, sprinkle with decoration sprinkles. Let air dry. Submitted by: Jackie Roberge |
