SOFT GINGER COOKIES 
2 c. all purpose flour
1/4 tsp. ginger
Few grains of salt
1/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. dark molasses
1/4 c. sour milk
3/4 tsp. baking soda

Sift together flour, ginger and salt. Work in shortening; add molasses, sour milk and soda dissolved in a little hot water; mix well and drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Yield: 3 dozen.
