2 links Polka kielbasa (Hillshire Farms lg. links, 3 to 5 lbs.) 1 head cabbage 5 peeled potatoes 5 ears of corn 1 lb. fresh green beans 1 can of beer (opt. for flavor) In an 8-quart kettle on the stove, fill 1/2 of kettle with water and add one can of beer. Cut up Kielbasa into 2 to 3 inch sections and put in kettle. Cut cabbage head in half and cut halves into 1/4 sections. Add cabbage to kettle. Cut peeled potatoes in half and add to kettle. Cut each ear of corn in half and add to kettle. Cut the ends off the green beans and add to the kettle. Simmer on low heat and cover kettle with a lid. Cook on low heat for 3+ hours. The longer it simmers, the better it tastes. Will serves 5 to 7 people. |
