APPLE PIE WITH CRUNCH TOP 
4-6 lg. tart apples
1/2 recipe pie pastry
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

TOPPING:

1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. flour
1/3 c. butter

Mix 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon in bowl. Peel, core and slice apples and mix into sugar mixture. Line pie pan with pastry. Put in apple mixture.

In bowl, mix 1/2 cup sugar and flour; cut in butter. Sprinkle over apples. Bake at 450 degrees F. for 10 minutes, then at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
