EARLY AMERICAN CORNBREAD | |
1 egg, beaten 1 c. milk 2 tbsp. honey 2/3 c. cornmeal 3/4 c. flour 1 tbsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 3 tbsp. melted butter Stir honey into milk until dissolved. Add to beaten egg. Mix the dry ingredients together. Add the liquid and melted butter. Stir briskly and pour into well buttered 8 inch cast iron skillet or square pan. Bake in 425 degree oven for 20 minutes. |
