1 pkg. unsalted saltines
1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
12 oz. chocolate bits
1 c. chopped nuts

Layer crackers in columns (flat) on cookie sheet. Bring butter and sugar to boil. Cook for 3 minutes. Pour butter/sugar mixture over crackers. Bake in 350 degree oven for 4-5 minutes. Take out of oven; rearrange crackers into columns (they may float). Sprinkle chocolate bits on top and return to oven for 1 minute. Remove from oven - spread chocolate to make smooth and sprinkle crushed nuts. Remove from pan immediately and refrigerate on wax paper.
