QUICK DILL PICKLES 
3 qts. water
3 qts. vinegar
1 c. salt
1 head dill (for each jar)
1 tsp. mustard or celery seed
1/4 tsp. alum

Wash cucumber and pack into jars with dill. Mix water, salt and vinegar, bring to boil and pour over cucumber. Seal at once. A clove of garlic and pad of pepper may be placed in each jar. Additional flavor. Also 1 grape leaf in bottom of each jar will help to preserve color and adds flavor.
