EGG ROLLS | |
1/2 lb. ground pork 1 lb. fresh bean sprouts 1 lb. Chinese cabbage 3/4 oz. dried Chinese rice noodles 2 med. carrots, chopped 1 onion, chopped 1 tbsp. oyster flavored sauce 1 1/2 tbsp. slight soy sauce Salt and pepper to taste 1/8 pkg. frozen pastry wrappers Beaten egg Vegetable oil for deep frying Sweet sour sauce Brown the meat in a skillet until almost done. Add vegetables, rice noodles, and seasonings; cook a few minutes. Cool. Place a tablespoon of meat mixture in the center of a pastry wrapper. Turn in two opposite corners of the square and form wrapper into a roll. Dab beaten egg on the inside of the wrapper flap to bind the layers together. Fry at once in 370 degree vegetable oil until evenly browned. Serve with sweet sour sauce. Note: Meat rolls can be reheated by baking in a 350 degree oven until they are heated through. |
