TOMATO CATSUP 
1 gal. chopped tomaotes
1 lg. onion
2 tbsp. mixed whole spices

Cook well done. Drain in colander for 1 hour. Then squeeze out remainder of pulp. Add to this:

1 c. sugar or too suit taste
1/2 c. vinegar
2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. black pepper
A little red pepper, if you want it hot

Boil 10 minutes, after it starts to boil. Can and seal.
