MOM'S TOMATO RELISH 
30 lg. tomatoes
6 lg. peaches
6 lg. pears
6 lg. apples
4 lg. onions
4 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. mixed pickling spice
1 pt. white vinegar

Peel tomatoes (dip in hot water and peel should come off easily) and fruit and onions; cut up small. Put spices in a little bag made of some thin white cloth and add with above in a large pot or kettle along with salt and vinegar.

Cook down some and then add sugar (to prevent sticking and scorching). Continue to cook slowly (several hours) until desired consistency. Stir off and on. Seal in jars and serve with pot roast.
