DOUBLE CHOCOLATE SURPRISE
BROWNIES
 
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 sqs. unsweetened chocolate, melted
2/3 c. flour
1 pkg. (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped

CREAM CHEESE FILLING:

1 (4 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
2 tbsp. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. flour

Beat butter until light. Beat until well creamed. Add eggs. Continue to beat well. Mix in the vanilla. Add the baking powder, salt, and eggs. Continue to beat well. Mix in the vanilla. Add the baking powder, salt and melted chocolate, stirring well. Slowly add the flour, then add chocolate and melted chocolate, stirring well. Slowly add the flour, then add chocolate chips and nuts. Reserve 1 cup of chocolate mixture. Pour remaining mixture in to prepared 9 inch square pan.

FOR FILLING: Whip the cream cheese with the butter. Gradually add the sugar. Mix in the egg, vanilla, and then the flour. Pour cheese mixture in the pan. Drop the reserved chocolate mixture, over the cream cheese. Swirl to marble. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool.
