MUSHROOM - ONION SAUCE 
1 lb. fresh mushrooms
3 lg. onions
1/4 c. vegetable oil
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. black pepper
2 tsp. kuzu (natural thickener, found in health food store)
Or cornstarch
1/2 c. soy milk

Saute onions, mushrooms, garlic powder, salt and pepper until lightly browned. Take about 2 teaspoons kuzu pieces in small bowl and dilute with 1 tablespoon water. Mix 1/2 cup soy milk with 1/2 cup water. Pour kuzu over mushroom-onion mixture. Stir over very low flame for about 1 minute or until thickened. Pour soy mixture over it, stirring constantly, about 1 minute. Delicious over brown rice, pasta, potatoes or kasha.
