WAFFLES 
2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. milk
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 eggs, separated
4-6 tbsp. shortening

Mix all ingredients together except egg white. Beat egg white to stiff peaks and fold into other mixture. Bake in waffle iron.

CORNMEAL WAFFLES: Use 1 cup flour and 1 cup cornmeal.
