SWEET-SOUR PICKLES 
Medium sized cucumbers
2 celery stalks, quartered
1 qt. white vinegar
1/2 c. pickling salt
Onion slices
8 heads fresh dill
4 c. sugar
2 c. cold water

Wash freshly picked cucumbers and cut lengthwise enough to fill 4 sterilized jars. To each jar, add 3 or 4 slices onions, 2 pieces celery and 2 dill heads. Dissolve sugar and salt in vinegar and cold water. Bring to a boil. Pour hot liquid over cucumbers. Seal at once. Set jars in hot water. Let stand until cool.
