1 to 1 1/2 lb. round or sirloin steak
Cut steak into strips approximately 4 x 2 and then pound as thin as possible. Salt and pepper to taste.
Mix 1 onion (chopped), 1 stick melted butter, and enough bread crumbs to hold mixture together. Spread this mixture on each steak strip; roll tightly and fasten with toothpicks. If you want to add some seasonings like garlic salt, sage, etc. to the stuffing, it just makes it better.
Melt about 3 tablespoons butter in Dutch oven or heavy pan and brown each roll- mop. After all are browned, sprinkle with about 2 tablespoons flour and put in one can beef broth and enough water to cover if needed.
Bring to a boil, then turn down heat and simmer until rolls are tender, approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hours. This will make its own gravy as it cooks.
