HOMEMADE SWEET PICKLES 
cucumbers
4 tsp. each: whole cloves, allspice and mustard seed
1 c. sugar
1 c. vinegar

Wash and peel cucumbers. Slice and put in pan. Add a pinch of salt and mix together. Cover with ice cubes on top of slices for about 2 hours. Drain water and add vinegar and sugar and the rest of the seasoning. Boil for 15 minutes and let cool. While this is cooling, get your jars ready to fill. Boil jars and lids until hot. Fill jars up, making sure lids are dry. Turn upside down to seal.
