EMMA VANWHY'S CRUMB PIE 
3 c. flour
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
Salt
1 c. molasses
1 c. boiling water
1 tsp. baking soda

Mix into crumbs, save 1/2 cup for top of pie. To remaining crumbs, add 1 cup molasses, 1 cup boiling water and 1 teaspoon baking soda. Pour into pie shell. Bake 1 hour at 400 degrees.
