PRUNE CAKE 
1 c. sugar
2/3 c. butter or shortening
3 eggs
1 c. stewed prunes, cut up
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1/3 c. sour cream
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 2 tbsp. hot water
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. lemon extract
1 tsp. orange extract

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cream sugar and sugar. Add eggs and beat until thick and creamy. Add the rest of the ingredients in the order given and bake 20-25 minutes in 2 large or 3 small layers.

FILLING:

1 egg, beaten
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. sour cream
1 heaping tbsp. butter
1/2 c. stewed prunes, cut up
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. chopped pecans

Cook all ingredients together (except pecans) until thick, stirring almost constantly to prevent scorching. Let cool slightly, then add nuts and spread between layers and on top of cake.

This is a wonderful "Holiday" cake, rich and moist, and keeps well (if there's any left).
