3 1/2 c. sugar 3 c. vinegar 1 tsp. celery seed 1 tsp. mustard seed 1 tsp. turmeric 1 to 2 lg. onions 2 tbsp. salt 6 to 7 lg. unpeeled cucumbers Place all ingredients in a large container (gallon jar or large Tupperware bowl). Fill with sliced cucumbers. Put in refrigerator and stir once a day for 3 days. End of third day they are ready to eat. NOTE: I put the vinegar and sugar in a large pan on slow heat to melt sugar. Let cool, add other ingredients, then cucumbers. |
