1 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon almond favoring
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1. Heat oven to 400°F.

2. Cream butter with sugar. Add remaining ingredients; mix thoroughly.

3. Divide into three unequal parts: one part almost half, of the remaining, about 2/3 - 1/3. Color the largest part red, the smallest part green, leaving the third portion uncolored.

4. Roll green portion into cylinder abouth the length of the coodie press cylinder. Pat out uncolored portion on waxed paper to same length. Roll around the first cylinder. Repeat with the remaining red dough. Cut in half.

5. Place in cookie press and press out cookies on ungreased, WARM cookie sheets using the design of your choice. Repeat with second half.

6. Pake 6 to 9 minutes until set but not brown.

Makes about 5 dozen cookie.
