1 c. ground raisins
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. water
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. walnuts
1 1/2 c. chopped apples
1 c. sm. spiced gum drops (except licorice)

Cook raisins, sugar, shortening and water until sugar dissolves. Set aside to cool. Sift dry ingredients. Add raisin mixture. Then add vanilla, walnuts, apples and spiced gum drops. Bake in angel food cake pan at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Set pan in pan of water to bake.
