CREAM CHEESE CAKE SQUARES 
1 (18.5 oz.) pkg. yellow cake mix without pudding
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 egg, beaten
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Combine first 3 ingredients in a large mixing bowl; mix well. Press mixture into a lightly greased 13x9x2 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

Beat cream cheese at medium speed of an electric mixer until fluffy; add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Gradually add powdered sugar, beating well. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over first layer, spreading evenly. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Cool and cut into 1 1/2 inch squares. Yield: about 4 dozen.
