APPLE COBBLER 
5 lg. cooking apples, peeled and sliced
1/2 to 1 c. sugar (depends on tartness of apples)
1 c. raisins
2 tbsp. butter

(I use half light brown and half granulated).

BATTER:

1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. melted butter
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk

Place peeled, sliced apples in greased 8 x 12 inch casserole. Sprinkle with raisins and sugar and dot with butter.

Prepare batter: beat egg and sugar together well. Add all-purpose flour and baking powder alternately with milk. Add vanilla and butter.

Cover apples with batter and bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 60 minutes. Serve with warm milk if desired. 12 large servings.
