BAVARIAN APPLE TORTE 
CRUST:

1/2 c. butter
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar

Mix and line bottom and sides of 9-inch springform pan.

FILLING:

8 oz. cream cheese
1/3 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix and pour into crust.

FRUIT:

4 c. sliced peeled apples
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Toss together and spoon on top of filling. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup chopped walnuts. Bake 10 minutes at 450 degrees. Reduce heat to 400 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool before removing from pan.
