FIG BARS 
1/4 c. butter, softened
1 c. packed brown sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. grated lemon peel
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. finely chopped dried figs

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg, peel and vanilla. Beat well. Stir together flour, baking powder and salt; blend into creamed mixture. Stir in figs. Pour into greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool; cut into bars. Makes 32.
