IDELL'S PEACH COBBLER | |
2 cans (29 oz.) peaches (sliced) Sugar as desired 6 tbsp. vanilla flavor 6 tbsp. nutmeg (ground) 2 sticks butter CRUST FOR PIE: 2 c. sifted flour 1 c. shortening (Crisco) 1 tsp. salt 1/3 c. water (cold) Mix ingredients together with fork until crumbly. Add water. Mend together. Put in refrigerator until cold. Put peaches in pan. Add sugar. Cook about two minutes on top of stove. Add butter flavor and nutmeg. Mix together. If there's a lot of juice make a small batter of flour, little sugar and nutmeg and vanilla. Stir it in peach mixture. Do not put too much thicken, just enough so cobbler won't be too juicy. Take crust out. Refrigerate and roll. Cut in strips and put on top of cobbler. Bake 400 degrees until crust is brown. |
