SOPA DE TORTILLA 
4 tortillas
4 tbsp. cooking oil
1 sm. onion, finely chopped
4 oz. can tomato sauce
4 c. chicken broth, preferably homemade
Salt to taste
Chopped fresh cilantro
Lime slices
Cumin to taste
Chipotle to taste (roasted jalapeno sauce)
Chopped avocado
Chopped cooked chicken
Shredded Jack cheese

Cut tortillas in thin strips and fry. (We generally bake ours instead - less fat.) Saute onions until transparent. Add chicken broth, tomato sauces, salt, cumin and chipotle. Simmer for 30 to 45 minutes.

Prepare deep dish soup bowls: handful of tortilla strips, some chicken and cheese, some avocado. Then pour on soup liquid. Garnish with cilantro and lime slices.
