Crock Pot Pork Roast

 Uncle Gar (Florida) says:
I use a can of beef broth instead of the water. Just adds that additional flavor, and helps to make a really decadent gravy. I use cornstarch and water to thicken my au jus after the roast is done and resting prior to serving. I also crunch a clove of garlic and drop that in at the start as well.

This is one of my go-to recipes when we're expecting young guests. Each time, I varied the recipes in ways mentioned in other reviews here.

But the last few batches, I used some old package condiments from Chinese takeout. The hot mustard. The soy sauce. Hands down, this twist has become our household favorite.

Thank you for sharing this simple but very tasty recipe, it was a big hit. You made the ladies in the house happy, they were shocked. (I'm more of a bachelor style cook) Only suggestion I have is be sure to use a big enough roast to allow for leftovers. Even better the second day.

Going to give this a try. Went out after reading some of the reviews and bought some pork roast. Slight difference is I put broth in instead of water and along with the pepper I added some Chili flakes.

Always best to brown meat and onions first then add meat, onions and drippings to crock pot.

This is good! I altered it a bit by draining most of the juice out of a jar of banana peppers and dumping it on top of the roast and onions. When it was done I shredded it with a couple of forks and added some more "BBQ" sauce to it. MMMmmmmmm... that's tasty, especially on an onion roll! Lol

The recipe came out great (I added quartered potatoes). Very moist, and even my finicky 7-year-old dug right in (of course, he praised it as "chicken", but he ate it!)

Family of 7 LOVED this pork roast. Even impressed my parents...not dried out at all, great flavor. Made it alone without any veggies...just pulled apart with fork and made sandwiches out of it. Delicious!
