2 1/4 c. unsifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. butter (butter), softened
3/4 c. white sugar
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 eggs
12 oz. (2 c.) chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Combine butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Add eggs. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Add to above. Mix in chocolate chips and nuts, if desired. Grease 15 x 10 inch pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
