2 med. onions, chopped 2 cloves garlic 2 lbs. ground chuck 1 1/2 tsp. whole anise seed 2 tsp. oregano Fry onions, garlic in oil, add meat and saute together. Add anise, oregano, salt and pepper to taste. 1 (15 oz.) block chili (Rices Roll) 2 (1 lb.) cans stewed tomatoes 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce 2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans tomato soup Cut chili into a 5 quart Dutch oven and melt. Add tomato sauce and tomato soup. Simmer until well blended, about 30 minutes. If too thick, add a little water (I do). Add meat mixture to sauce. Serves 12 to 16. |
