SOPPIN' SAUCE 
1 c. water
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
5 tsp. chili powder
1/2 c. ketchup
1 1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
3 tbsp. Worcestershire
3/4 c. vinegar
1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. honey
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. lemon juice
1/4 tsp. cayenne
6 tbsp. brown sugar

Combine water, tomato paste, and chili powder in a saucepan, mixing well. Add ketchup and pepper. Mix and simmer for 5 minutes. Add rest of ingredients. Bring to a rolling boil. Reduce heat and simmer 1 hour. Makes 3 cups.

Use on chicken, ribs, beef, pork chops or bratwurst. Store in airtight container. Double or triple recipe; may be kept in freezer.
