1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. molasses
2/3 c. boiling water
1 1/2 c. flour, sifted
2 tsp. baking soda
Pinch of salt
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. cream
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine first 4 ingredients, pour boiling water over all. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Fold into mixture. Pour into well greased and flour, mold. Steam for 1 hour. To steam cover tightly with lid or with foil held in place with elastic band or tied with a strong cord.

Place in a deep kettle on a rack. Pour in hot water to come halfway up side of mold. Cover kettle and bring water to boiling point. Serve with sauce made from last four ingredients listed. Mix and bring to a boil sugar, butter and cream. Add vanilla. This pudding is delicious for the holidays and makes a beautiful dessert when flamed. Serves 12 (small servings but is rich).
