CHILI CON CARNE 
1 lb. ground beef
1 tbsp. chopped garlic
1 large onion, chopped
1 or 2 green peppers
1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 bay leaf
1 large can tomatoes, crushed
1 to 3 tbsp. chili powder, to taste
1 tsp. salt (optional)
1/4 tsp. oregano

Begin cooking beef inlarge saucepan while chopping vegetables. Add vegetables and cook until meat is done. Add all ingredients except kidney beans. Cover and simmer for 1 hour. Add kidney beans last 20 minutes. Serve over rice or with saltine crackers. Can be frozen.
