1 can applesauce
1 box brown sugar
1 (15 oz.) box raisin
3 c. plain flour, unsifted and packed into cups
1/2 c. walnuts or pecans
1 3/4 sticks butter
1 tbsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. cinnamon

Melt butter. Mix with soda, applesauce, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon in a bowl. Add flour, 1 cup at a time. Mix well. Add raisins and nuts. Bake in a greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
