MILE HIGH MERINGUE | |
1 tbsp. cornstarch in 2 tbsp. cool water 1/2 c. hot water 6 tbsp. sugar 3 egg whites (room temp.) 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar 1/2 tsp. vanilla Pinch of salt Moisten cornstarch in cool water, add hot water and boil until thick and clear. Cool. Whip egg whites with cream of tartar and salt, gradually adding sugar. Beat until soft mounds form. Beat cooled cornstarch with beater, then add to egg whites. Add flavoring. Beat until smoothly blended. |
