APPLE RING FRITTERS 
1 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. milk
1 egg
4 lg. apples

Mix dry ingredients. Add milk and eggs; beat well. Peel and core apples and slice in rings about 1/4 inch thick. Dip rings in butter and drop into skillet containing 1/2 inch hot melted shortening.

Fry until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towel. Mix some sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over fritters, or use some 10X sugar. Makes 16-20 rings.
