LUNCH - BOX CHOCOLATE CAKE | |
4 oz. (125 g.) semi-sweet chocolate 2 tbsp. (30 ml) water 2 tbsp. (30 ml) butter 1/4 c. (50 ml) heavy cream 3 egg yolks 3 tbsp. (45 ml) sugar 3 tbsp. (45 ml) flour 3 egg whites, beaten stiff with pinch of salt Extra whipped cream for topping & chocolate sprinkles for decoration Place chocolate and water in large glass bowl. Microwave 2 minutes, uncovered, at HIGH. Mix in butter. Add cream and mix well. Mix in egg yolks; then add sugar and mix well. Mix in flour until well incorporated. Using spatula fold in beaten egg whites until thoroughly incorporated. Pour batter into 8 cup (2 L) glass pie plate and microwave 12 minutes, uncovered, at MEDIUM. Cool thoroughly before serving and garnish cake as directed. Serves 4. |
