MARINARA SAUCE | |
8 cups Italian plum tomatoes, seeded and cut up (3 - 28 oz. cans) 2 Tbsps. olive oil 2 tsps. garlic, finely chopped 3 Tbsps. fresh oregano, chopped 6 Tbsps. parsley, chopped 3 Tbsps. fresh basil, chopped 2 tsps. sugar Salt and ground black pepper to taste Angel hair pasta Heat olive oil in large cooking pot and saute garlic. Add tomatoes and cook until tomatoes are reduced in half. Then add remaining ingredients and cook about 1 1/2 hours, until sauce is thick. You can use dried herbs but it is much better with fresh. I place sauce in containers and freeze to have ready for an instant meal. Serve over pasta of your choice and top with freshly grated Parmesan cheese. |
