PEAR CRUMBLE PIE 
6 med. pears
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. grated lemon peel
3 tbsp. lemon juice
9 inch unbaked pastry shell

TOPPING:

1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. mace
1/3 c. butter
1/2 pt. (1 c.) whipping cream
Flavor with sugar & vanilla

Peel, halve, core and slice pears and toss them lightly with the 1/2 cup sugar, lemon peel and juice. Arrange in pastry shell.

For the topping combine flour, sugar, ginger, cinnamon and mace; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle mixture over the pears. Bake in hot oven (400 degrees) for 45 minutes, or until fruit is tender. Serve warm with flavored whipped cream. Serves 6.
