LEMON NUT BREAD 
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
6 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. milk
1 1/4 c. sugar (hold 1/4 c.)
2 eggs
2 tbsp. grated lemon rind
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
3 tbsp. lemon juice

Cream butter and 1 cup sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and mix well. Add rind and nuts; blend. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add, alternately with milk, to creamed mixture; mix well. Pour into greased bread pan (or 2 loaf pans). Bake at 350 degrees about 1 hour. Combine 1/4 cup sugar and lemon juice. Spoon over cooked bread while warm. Can be frozen, thawed and served several months after baking.
