CANTONI SECRET SPAGHETTI SAUCE 
2 lg. cans tomato puree
1 tbsp. olive oil
1 lg. clove garlic, chopped
1 tbsp. sweet basil
2 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Pour oil in bottom of large pot. Add garlic and saute gently. Add puree and stir. Add spices and simmer 1 hour.

MEATBALLS:

1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 lg. clove garlic, chopped
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. Italian bread crumbs
1/3 c. milk
1/2 c. parmesan cheese, grated
1 tbsp. oregano
1 tbsp.. sweet basil

Mix all ingredients thoroughly and form into meatballs. (Depending on the moistness of the beef, you may need to adjust the amounts of bread crumbs or milk. The mixture should be moist but not sloppy.) Drop into simmering sauce. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours. The sauce and the meatballs only need to cook for 2 hours total. Stir occasionally.
