GERMAN CHOCOLATE TURTLE BARS 
1 box German chocolate cake mix
3/4 c. melted butter
1 small can evaporated milk
1 (14 oz.) pkg. vanilla caramels
1 c. chopped nuts
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk in double boiler. Mix cake mix, butter, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and nuts. Press 1/2 of mixture in a 9 x 13-inch pan.

Bake at 350°F for 6 minutes. Sprinkle chips over this crust; pour the caramel mix on and dab the remaining cake mixture on top.

Bake an additional 15 to 20 minutes at 350°F. Let cool. Cut in squares.
